HELT 501 – Foundations of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education

HELT 501 is the core course for PHELT. In this course, participants work with academic colleagues to explore ways in which higher education theories and research can help them to understand and develop their own teaching practice and their students’ learning outcomes. Assessment includes a reflective essay on the relevance of specific theories and research studied to the participant’s teaching practice, and a curriculum review project focusing on the design of a specific course. This course is offered in both Trimester 1, and Trimester 2.

Trimester Two meeting time (weekly): Wednesday 9.00-11.50* (Kelburn)
