Orientation to Teaching at Victoria

The Orientation to Teaching at Victoria is run by the Centre for Academic Development. The programme is designed to introduce new academic staff to a range of topics that relate to their teaching at Victoria. The next Orientation to Teaching at Victoria will run in February 2017. Further information will be posted nearer the time.

Requirements

It is a requirement of the University that all newly appointed teaching staff (regardless of experience and including those on short-term appointments) attend the Orientation to Teaching at Victoria programme during the first 12 months of their employment.

Format

The Orientation to Teaching at Victoria runs two or three times a year. All the workshops are interactive, practical sessions, informed by relevant research and run by experienced facilitators.

Orientation to Research

New academic staff are also expected to complete an Orientation to Research day. Orientation to Research is run by the Research Office and focuses on introducing new academics at Victoria to the various research services, support, grants, expectations and possibilities at Victoria.
